My background as an entrepreneur

My current challenges

I need both legal and accounting services to ensure my business can scale with the proper guidance and mentorship. Hiring staff has also been a challenge for me due to finding the right talent and finding revenue to pay them well.

Actions I’ve taken so far

Currently I have hired Anderson Business Advisors for my business structure and have retained attorneys to review real estate documents and provide guidance. I use Quickbooks Online for my books, but I am not proficient at using it as I have hired multiple accountants, but still struggle with finding someone to fully serve me.

My future goals

I want to focus specifically on serving justice-involved individuals and franchise this unique housing model across the state. I want to become the preferred housing provider for reentry as we partner with Probation & Parole and correctional facilities to house, employ and train participants in sustainability and recovery. I want to develop a 50-unit sustainable skills training and recovery (SSTAR) Center in St. Louis.

My motivations to work with a mentor

I am coachable and highly motivated to work with a mentor in order to reach my growth plan. As a Small Business Administration (SBA) Emerging Leaders Graduate, I learned various strategies to take my business to the next level and now, I am ready for the next step of my growth. I am willing to carve out the time required to implement what is necessary to move forward.

The HomeQuest Group Started 2014

The HomeQuest Group is a real estate investing company that does more than flip houses – WE TRANSFORM LIVES THROUGH REAL ESTATE! And what does that mean exactly? We teach underserved individuals sustainable skills and recovery while showing them how to become investment property owners as they stay in our model properties. We have 70+ single occupancy units across nine (9) single and multi-family properties that serves dozens of residents who participate in our training. Once they graduate and move into their own properties, they are not only able to live for free, but they also give back to their peers and the community replicating the same process in their property as they serve as mentors to their tenant participants.

We also provide training in property management and real estate investing for those who want to learn those skills and partner with other investors who want to support our unique housing model. HomeQuest has a strong property management team and has grown to lead the way in affordable housing as we pursue new opportunities in real estate.
