What I need help with
My background as an entrepreneur
My current challenges
We need to create a team of technicians that can operate in-house and remotely. We need capital to put a workshop in place and get training. This is our first business in the computer industry, so I'm sure in our model we haven't thought of everything. A mentor that understands how to build a service, repair, and sales business is the impulse we need to create a solid model that we can act on, in addition to funding.
Actions I’ve taken so far
I regularly attend industry meet-ups where I've been able to interview potential customers, some of who are among the largest operators in the world in our industry. We have a business plan and preliminary financial projections. We've been working with the SBDC, but their expertise is limited in this area.
My future goals
Create a team of technicians that can service the the blockchain data centers in Texas, which is the center of the world blockchain industry. This revenue channel will allow us to grow our data center capacity and stay competitive as more operators come online.
My motivations to work with a mentor
Every great player needs a coach. I have created several other small businesses successfully, but see that this opportunity is so great that I want to have someone that has created businesses at scale to advise and teach me along the way.
About my venture
Mindful Mining LLC Started 2021
We currently operate a data center that focuses on blockchain technology. We want to create another revenue channel by creating a team of technicians that can perform repair and maintenance for other data centers like ours. Other operators I've spoken with (some are among the largest in the world) in Texas have stated there is a severe shortage of technicians for ASICs (algorithm specific integrated circuits) and have encouraged me to pursue this venture. The blockchain industry is integrating with every corner of commerce from finance to agriculture and its growth is likely to continue at an exponential rate over the next decade. We want to offer trustworthy, on-site repair and maintenance for large and small operators alike, in addition to providing next day parts and equipment sales. Most parts and sales currently have to be ordered from overseas, which increases server downtime and increases costs. We can fix this.
