What I need help with

My background as an entrepreneur

My current challenges

Insufficient cashflow to follow a consistent marketing and sales strategy. The lack of sales and marketing experience is our biggest challenge and access to bigger markets to grow our own brand name.

Actions I’ve taken so far

I have attended many small business accelerator programs but find that all of then are on a entry level and not focused on building brands rather then manufacturing or doing CMT work for larger retailers

My future goals

To open the first clothing manufacturing plant with its own in-house training center in Mitchell's Plain. Providing a platform for other local brands too scale and grow.

My motivations to work with a mentor

Because I have no previous working experience in the clothing manufacturing industry and marketing knowledge I feel working with a mentor will help and guide me to allow business to become self sustainable and bring change to my community.

About my venture

Design26 Started 2013

Design26 Pty Ltd was started in 2013 as a legacy to Suraya's late mother. We are a social enterprise and operates a hybrid model. Our locally manufactured clothing products are an impact driven brand made to improve the livelihoods of underprivileged women to become self sustainable and employable. All profits made goes to our sister organisation Design26 Foundation to provide free sewing skills training to young girls who falls in the NEET category.

Countries of operation: South Africa
