What I need help with
My background as an entrepreneur
My current challenges
I am aware of two main points in the business that would result in exponential gain; 1) Getting more leads. Currently, only about 65% of the contractors we have onboarded actually receive leads. The reason is because we don't have enough lead flow. Getting more leads means a strong marketing strategy is required. We've tested various sources (adwords, facebook, bing), and had varying results. One of the issues is we don't have the financial strength to run test campaigns in order to test what works in terms of lead gen. Another issue is the industry is highly competitive which means a higher cost per click.
2) Getting more contractors in regions where we already have coverage. The business model allows us to sell one lead up to 3 times. If we can maximize contractor coverage, we can potentially double or triple the current revenue.
I believe a mentor can help guide me in devising a good lead generation plan, and potentially putting me in touch with the right people/companies.
About my venture
QuoteMe Network Started 2010
QuoteMe Network is a marketplace that puts homeowners and home improvement contractors in touch with each other. We’ve built, and continue to build a network of qualified, vetted, licensed and insured home improvement contractors. When homeowners are in need of a home improvement contractor, they can find us online, fill in a short form and be matched with between 1 and 3 local contractors.
I wanted to build a scalable business model that can be applied to different verticals. Through various research and also speaking to others in the industry, I decided to start with home improvement as the first vertical. We now have plans to venture into applying the same model in the legal industry.
The business is fully operational, and I’m now at a stage where I feel I need guidance to grow it and take it to the next stage. What that next stage is, I’m still unsure, but I'd like guidance on what it takes to grow the business, sell the business, or merge the business with another.
