How I can help
My professional background
I am a certified public accountant, business advisor and management consultant in the United States with over 25 years experience as a CEO and CFO managing enterprises as large as $250 million annually and have specialized training in international business with emphasis in Latin American (Spanish & Portuguese speaking) and French-speaking markets. My specialty area is small to medium sized, privately held companies. An industry that I have a keen interest in is the fashion and apparel industry including retail merchandising and the intersection of fashion, business and the arts and culture. As a member of several professional and trade associations, I serve as a mentor for young executives and entrepreneurs at all stages of development. This is how I stay current and up to date on industry trends and issues that, if I stayed in the C-suite disconnected from the real world of enterprise, I would otherwise miss.
How to work with me
What I can offer
I offer experienced professional business advisory and management consulting as well as accounting expertise that includes starting up a new business through setting up logistics and personnel infrastructures, planning for taxes, risk management, marketing and advertising communications, project evaluation and financial analysis and more. I have a passion for business and enjoy working with inspiring, serious business people in a variety of industries.
My expectations for a successful mentoring relationship
I expect the mentee entrepreneur to be serious about their business idea and to have a professional and inspiring attitude. Owning and running your own business is very hard and requires as much preparation, dedication and commitment as does any other profession. I expect the mentee to be consistent and reliable, prepared, on time, insightful, respectful of everyone's time and, most of all, ready to work.
How entrepreneurs can prepare before we start
Any serious entrepreneur must have a business plan in writing and ready to share along with a non disclosure and/or confidentiality agreement to protect their ideas. They must be ready to discuss the business and the progress and success they have made thus far along with the barriers, obstacles and challenges they have encountered that leads the entrepreneur to seek mentorship and business advice.
