Thinking as an enterprise rather than an individual.

To progress economically the startup must incorporate, form an enterprise and begin thinking in terms of a company entity in lieu of a single person image for the future.

For stability, growth, cash flow, industry reputation and partnering, the startup must consider the transition from a single individual mentality to a company. He or she must brand a company and not themselves and think bigger than they are in terms of involving others in operations to best position supplies and services for success.

Start-up's go through a number of stages before they are no longer called a start-up! While the challenges at each stage are somewhat different, the one thing that I have personally experienced as a startup/entrepreneur is the sense of reaching a dead-end, where you don't see a path ahead of you. It is up to you to find (or even create) a path to move forward - get a new customer, make a new offering to an existing customer, build something new (add-on) to your product that is in demand, get a new partner, etc. This is the essence of the entrepreneurial spirit!

The number one quality for an entrepreneur is resilience. Being resilient for a long period of time and not giving up is the number one hurdle for a successful entrepreneur.

It is tiring to face hurdle upon hurdle and have the mindset to come out with ideas to cross those hurdles and the energy to keep going. The successful startups and founders keep trying new things, keeping what works and modifying what does not.

The highest hurdle that a start-up must cross is the owner's "SELF-LIMITATION."

Owner's Self-limitation is that thing which does not allow the businessman or the businesswoman to give his/her business the balanced diet it needs to grow and develop. Because a start-up business can not grow beyond the owner's ability, Self-limitation of the owner becomes a hurdle that must be crossed. Self-limitation can exit in the form of fear, lack of good business education, poor time management, poor planning, lack of vision, lack of personal leadership, lack of emotional intelligence or personal hatred for risk. All the things about the owner which are not in harmony with the need of the new business is is great obstacle that must be changed. But change is hard work. Not withstanding, It's necessary that the owner of a start-up carry out this self change so that his/her business can succeed.
