Congrats on thinking of your idea to start an online food delivery service.
Things to consider:
Is there a market for this in Lagos?
How big is the market for this opportunity?
Who are your current competitors?
What is your business model? How will you make money?
What would make your online food delivery service unique, attractive to potential customers?
Do competitors use dial phone, mobile calling? An App? Will you design an app yourself or hire a developer or a tech person as your Co Founder?
Up to what mile radius, town/village radius are you willing to offer for a test pilot area - 5km, 10km to see who would purchase food and use the online delivery service?
Do you have relationships with local restaurants, caterers, etc.? Would they be interested in offering their foods online in addition to the store/local restaurants?
Do you have potential drivers (car, scooters, bikes, tuk tuk drivers, etc.), service in mind to do this/partner with?
Will you partner with local taxi, car ride sharing companies (if any)? Or pay drivers or deliverers to do this as employees or contractors?
Have to think about metrics - time to order, wait time, delivery, traffic.
How will you obtain your first customer?
Consider ways to scale the business
How will you fund the business? Will you be bootstrapping, looking for angel investors, kickstarter campaign, capital from investors?
Take a look at Deliveroo, an online food delivery service I used while living in Europe. www.deliveroo.co.uk. Check out their pitch deck here. https://www.slideshare.net/NOAHAdvisors/deliveroo-noah15-london.
Also Glovo, an app delivers food and scaled to expand to deliver more than food. https://www.glovoapp.com. Check out their pitch deck. https://www.slideshare.net/NOAHAdvisors/glovo-noah16-berlin
Hope this helps
