Leads in digital Marketing and Traffic in Digital Marketing are both developed by you through market research and social networking. Networking is a vital tool in achieving an image/brand. Establish a network like a wheel. The hub is core content (web site, blog, books, articles, useful materials). The spokes leading from the hub are the tools to network content that is linked to the hub.

Contacts are the engines that power the wheel.

Content is the fuel that feeds the social networking contacts and powers the wheel.

As the wheel turns, the quality of the networking improves with feedback and the wheel climbs the optimization hill of the major search engines (SEO). Utilize social media to promote your small business. The process requires a front-end loaded investment in time, but it is well worth the effort when using free or very low cost utilities on the Internet. The return may surprise you.

Set up a Google or Word Press blog as an extension of your web site. A blog is quite different from a web site. Provide good, solid information free of charge and use blog searches for synergistic businesses to team with. THE END PRODUCT: A brand, an image and valued content, carefully cultivated, exchanged and viewed regularly with others and communicated for success.

Hi Jennifer. A Lead (Marketing, Sales, Digital or not) is someone that is interested in your product or service and that may be converted to a client (someone who pays for your service/product). He/She is not a client yet, he/she is just someone who demonstrated interested in what you offer. Usually in digital marketing, are the ones that give the email to keep be informed about next product, blogs, articles, etc. How do we get them ? If you use a website, it's common to offer a pdf, a workbook, something in return for their email. But if you meet someone on a conference and he gives you his card after hearing what you do...he's also a Lead. And with leads is where you work your sales pitch and marketing strategies to convert them into Clients (digital or not). But of course, in terms of business...you also need to work your clients for them to keep buying :D. Hope I answered your question.

In digital marketing, a lead refers to a potential customer who has shown interest in a company's products or services by taking a specific action. This action could be anything from filling out a contact form on a website, subscribing to a newsletter, downloading a whitepaper or ebook, or engaging with content on social media.

Leads are crucial for businesses as they represent individuals or organizations that have demonstrated some level of interest in what the company offers. Digital marketers often focus on generating and nurturing leads through various strategies such as content marketing, email marketing, social media marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), and pay-per-click (PPC) advertising.

Once a lead is captured, digital marketers work to nurture and qualify them through targeted communication and engagement efforts. The ultimate goal is to convert leads into paying customers, thereby driving revenue and business growth.

A lead is someone or an organization that has shown interest in your product or service and has shared their contact information for further communication.

It's important to note that they are not yet a customer, but they have the potential to become one if you can successfully convert them into a paying customer.
